There are different levels of paint correction, with the two most common methods being 1-step paint correction and 2-step paint correction.
1-step paint correction
1-Step paint correction, also known as single-stage correction, involves using a single abrasive polish or compound to remove surface imperfections and enhance the gloss of the paintwork.
This method is typically used when the imperfections are minor and the overall condition of the paint is relatively good.
It is a less aggressive approach compared to 2-step correction and is suitable for vehicles with light to moderate swirl marks and scratches.
2-step paint correction
2-Step paint correction, also known as multi-stage correction, involves a two-stage process using different levels of abrasive polishes or compounds.
The first step typically involves using a more aggressive compound to remove deeper scratches, swirl marks, and other defects.
The second step involves using a finer polish to refine the paintwork and enhance the clarity and gloss.
This method is more intensive and is used when the imperfections are more severe or when a higher level of finish is desired.
2-step correction can achieve significantly better results than 1-step correction but requires more time and expertise to execute properly.
